Andhra Pradesh Launches Adavi Thalli Baata 2.0 Road Project

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan launched the Adavi Thalli Baata 2.0 road project on 11 October 2026. The ₹2,052-crore project covers 1,976 km of roads to connect 1,341 tribal habitations across the state. Its first phase is planned to provide road access to at least 735 villages.

Project Scale and Road Connectivity

The project includes 45 bridges, with the roads scheduled to be commissioned by March 2027. At Kakavada village in Rampachodavaram mandal, Polavaram district, Pawan Kalyan laid the foundation stone for a 3.4-km road. The road is intended to provide access to 1,400 tribal families across four villages. The project addresses road connectivity in tribal habitations where terrain can make construction more challenging.

Telecommunications in Tribal Areas

Work is under way to commission 135 cellphone towers in tribal areas. Applications for permission covering 48 optical fibre cable routes are under scrutiny by the Forest Department. These measures concern mobile and internet connectivity in remote habitations. Araku, Maredumilli and the Nallamala hills are among the regions where eco-tourism is being encouraged; coffee is cultivated in the Araku Valley.

Agriculture, Welfare and Tribal Livelihoods

The initiative also includes distribution of 38 varieties of farm implements to 34,000 tribal farmers at a 90% subsidy. An allocation of ₹68 crore has been made for the farm equipment programme. In Rakota village, welfare works worth ₹5 crore were sanctioned for school renovations and medical facilities. Pawan Kalyan also assured bamboo craftsmen of the Konda Reddi tribe of market connectivity for their products.
