Andhra Pradesh ACB 14400 app

An app named “ACB 14400” has been launched by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. This app was launched to curb corruption at government offices across the State.

Which organization has developed this app?

This app has been developed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). Through this app, the people can lodge corruption-related complaints against any government officials in the State. Prior to this, people could file a complaint through a toll-free number, 14400, but they didn’t submit evidence with it. Hence, the ACB could not be able to solve the lodged cases as there wasn’t enough evidence to incriminate the guilty or probe the matter. Seeing the difficulty in the previous process, the CM directed officials to develop an app through which all problems can be solved thus ensuring a foolproof solution for the people of the state. By using this mobile application, people can attach proof such as videos, audio, and images while reporting any corruption case.

How does the app work?

The ACB 14400 app can be downloaded from the Google play store. An OTP will be to the mobile number through which registration is being done, and once registered, the app will be ready to use. This app has two key features:

  • One is to live record audio, photo, or video and lodge a complaint instantly.
  • Another method is to send the videos, photos, documents, as well as other proofs and lodge a complaint.

After a complaint is lodged, a reference number will be sent to the registered mobile number. The IOS version of this app will soon be launched. Any person who has been asked for a bribe from any government official including the RDO office, collector office, Mandal level office, sub-registrar office, police station, etc, must download this app and record the conversation following which it would reach the ACB. The ACB has been directed to report to the Chief Minister’s office.

Also, to educate the people, the officials have planned to conduct various seminars at the municipality, district, panchayat, and Mandal levels through the ward and village secretariat system.
