100-Week Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan Begins with Rashtriya Sankalp Samaroh

The 100-week Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan is scheduled to begin on 18 September 2026 with a nationwide Rashtriya Sankalp Samaroh. The initiative is titled “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan” and was launched on 2 August 2026 through a virtual address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Campaign Framework

The campaign is led by the Department of Youth Affairs under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It is implemented through Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) and the National Service Scheme (NSS), both of which work with youth volunteers and educational institutions.

The campaign is structured around four pillars: Prevent, Protect, Recover, and Lead. It also includes a 12-week activity calendar from September to December 2026 with thematic phases such as “My Health, My Pride” and “Fit Youth, Addiction-Free Youth”.

Rashtriya Sankalp Samaroh and Youth Participation

The Rashtriya Sankalp Samaroh will be organised by NSS across 300 identified educational institutions from 18 September 2026. Activities for the first Sunday of the 100-week Abhiyan are planned for 20 September 2026 across 485 MY Bharat units, including district offices and youth hostels.

The opening phase includes a collective Youth Pledge and Signature Campaign. The programme also includes street plays, slogan writing, and youth-led discussions as part of the mobilisation process.

Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Background

The wider Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was launched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 15 August 2020. By 14 September 2026, it had reached over 34.54 crore citizens, including more than 13.70 crore youth and 10.64 crore women.
