What is Paleontology?

Paleontology is the science dealing with extinct organisms, of her animal or plant origin, whose remains are found buried in the rocks; the study of Fossils. The term is applied only to the study of animal fossils (palaeozoology), the study of plant fossils being termed palaeobotany.
