Backshore refers to the area behind the shore. This coastal feature is located between the beach and the slope of backshore. Backshore is affected only by waves at the time of high tides or storms. The key features of Backshore include well-sorted and well-rounded sediments; coarse and medium sand; parallel bedding and low-angle cross-bedding in sedimentary structure.
