What is Altiplano in Geography?

Altiplano is a region of elevated plateaux or intermont basins between the Western and Eastern Cordileras at a height of about 350 m, mainly in West Bolivia but extending North into Peru and South into Argentina. It contains lakes Titicaca and Poopo.
