WCT Project

WCT or West Container terminal project is a Sri Lankan project, which the island nation’s government recently decided to offer to India and Japan. This comes a month after reneging on an agreement regarding the ECT project with the two countries. India and Japan have been allowed an 85% stake in the WCT project that is to be developed in the Colombo Port. It is to be developed on a BOT basis (build, operate and transfer) over a period of 35 years.
