Transgender Community Desk

India’s first Transgender Community Desk was inaugurated recently by Cyberabad police at Telangana’s Gachibowli police station. This desk will be manned by a police liaison officer and a transgender person, who will be designated as a community coordinator. This desk will file cases on offences related to violence or discrimination against transgender persons as well as provide counseling, legal aid, skilling initiatives, referral linkages to welfare schemes etc.
