The Economics of Biodiversity

‘The Economics of Biodiversity’ is a climate report given by Prof. Partha Dasgupta for the UK Treasury department. It is the first of its kind report giving the framework of relationship between economics and biodiversity. The review calls for embedding of nature into economic thought and decision making by governments.  It calls for inclusion of natural capital in national accounting system i.e. changing the measures of economic success. Transformation of institutions and systems and ensuring that demands don’t exceed sustainable supply are two other areas of solutions in the report.
