Recognising the need for a citizen-friendly, time-bound, and efficient system, the Punjab Government launched the Tatkal Sewa for Property Registration under its Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) and Digital Punjab initiatives. The scheme ensures that property registration requests are processed within 24 working hours, providing relief to individuals and businesses requiring urgent documentation.

    • Upload the necessary property documents (sale deed, ID proofs, power of attorney, etc.) and pay the applicable registration and Tatkal fees online.
  3. Appointment Scheduling:
    • Book a Tatkal appointment slot at the nearest Sub-Registrar Office (SRO).
  4. Verification and Registration:
    • Attend the appointment for biometric verification and signing before the sub-registrar.
    • The registration is processed and completed the same day.
  5. Issuance of Registered Document:

Punjab was among the first states to integrate NGDRS with its Jamabandi (land records) and e-Stamping portals, enabling end-to-end online registration.

  • Limited Tatkal slots available per day in high-demand districts.
  • Occasional server issues during online application due to heavy traffic.
  • Need for more public awareness about online procedures, especially in rural areas.

The government is addressing these through capacity enhancement, improved digital infrastructure, and public information campaigns.
