Notes:
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has listed 15 non-banking finance companies (NBFCs), including LIC Housing Finance, Bajaj Finance, Shriram Finance, Tata Sons, and Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company, placing them in the Upper Layer (NBFC-UL) under Scale Based Regulations (SBR) for non-bank lenders.
These NBFCs will be subject to enhanced regulatory requirements, at least for a period of five years from their classification in the layer, even in case they do not meet the parametric criteria in the subsequent year/s.

Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur felicitated players under Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay National Welfare Fund for Sportspersons (PDUNWFS).
The fund was formulated to help sportspersons who play well but are from poor and needy family. It helps in procurement of sports equipment and training and till date 270 sportspersons have been provided support of around 8 crore 15 lakhs rupees.

A new report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has focussed on the health and economic consequences of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Titled “Embracing a One Health Framework to Fight Antimicrobial Resistance,” the report provides fresh evidence of the global impact of AMR and offers recommendations to combat it. The report reveals that the consumption of antibiotics in humans has been increasing, especially in G20 countries.

Amidst ongoing diplomatic tensions between India and Canada, India has suspended its visa services in Canada till further notice.
This was announced by BLS Visa Application Centre, the application centre for Indian visas in Canada. Earlier, India issued an advisory to Indian nationals in Canada, including students, to exercise utmost caution while travelling in the country.

Haryana submitted its ‘State Action Plan for Management of Paddy Stubble Burning’ to Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).
In the plan, Haryana aims to significantly reduce and potentially eliminate fire incidents resulting from paddy stubble burning this year. To achieve this, the state plans to implement bio-decomposer applications in 5 lakh acres of land during the current harvesting season.

NHA is organising ‘Arogya Manthan’ to celebrate 5 years of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and 2 years of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

TATA Projects has been awarded a contract by Micron Technology to construct the semiconductor assembly and test plant in Sanand, Gujarat.
The project includes the design and construction of a first-of-its-kind DRAM (dynamic random access memory) and NAND (non-volatile flash memory) assembly and test facility in India.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued recommendations for bolstering telecom infrastructure in Northeast.
TRAI noted that there is still a lack of high-speed mobile-based internet and fixed broadband connectivity, mainly due to the inadequate transmission bandwidth (optical fibre, Microwave and satellite).

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) recently revealed that the Indian Standards would serve as a valuable addition to the goals of the Global Biofuel Alliance (GBA).
It is the international forum introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the recent G20 leaders’ summit. The key standards will help stakeholders dealing with biofuels or related matters.

The one-day National Conference on Agriculture for Rabi Campaign was organized by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
It was organized in New Delhi on September 26 this year. Country to produce record food grains, pulses and oilseeds at 3305, 275 and 410 lakh tonnes, respectively during 2023.
