Union Minister of Civil Aviation inaugurated ‘Udaan Bhawan,’ Integrated Office Complex at Delhi’s Safdarjung Airport.
It aims to bring together multiple aviation regulatory authorities under one roof for improved coordination, including DGCA, BCAS, AAIB and AERA. A pilot e-wallet facility designed for processing fees related to regulatory approvals through the Bharatkosh portal was also launched.

The Indian government has announced the establishment of Rashtriya Vigyan Puruskar, a series of awards to honor scientists in India.
These awards will be presented under four categories, including Vigyan Ratna for lifetime achievement, Vigyan Shri for distinguished contributions, Vigyan Yuva Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar to encourage young scientists, and Vigyan Team for recognizing teams of scientists. The awards will commence in 2024 and will cover 13 domains, ranging from Physics to Environmental Science.

The Railway Board in India has significantly increased ex-gratia payments for victims of train accidents and untoward incidents. The ex-gratia relief amounts, last revised in 2012 and 2013, have been increased by tenfold.
The circular states that relatives of deceased passengers in train accidents and manned level crossing accidents will now receive Rs 5 lakh, while grievously injured passengers will be awarded Rs 2.5 lakh. Passengers with simple injuries will receive Rs 50,000. Previously, these amounts were much lower, at Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000, and Rs 5,000, respectively.

France and Germany, the two largest economies in the European Union, pushed new proposals for the enlargement of the 27-member association.
The policy paper was put together by a group of 12 experts commissioned by the Europe ministers of France and Germany but not representing the countries’ official views. Along with the group’s enlargement, the paper looks at strengthening the rule of law and increasing the EU’s capacity to act.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) consulted stakeholders on ‘National Broadcasting Policy’.
As per TRAI, the Policy may provide a common approach for licenses, oversight, and compliances. The government is seeking to bring further parity in how digital and legacy mediums like television and OTT streaming are regulated.

Haryana submitted its ‘State Action Plan for Management of Paddy Stubble Burning’ to Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).
In the plan, Haryana aims to significantly reduce and potentially eliminate fire incidents resulting from paddy stubble burning this year. To achieve this, the state plans to implement bio-decomposer applications in 5 lakh acres of land during the current harvesting season.

A biodiversity knowledge centre named Neelakkurinji has been recently opened in Adimaly in Idukki district of Kerala. The biodiversity centre is located at the entry point of the Munnar hill station.
The centre has been set up by the Kerala State Haritha Keralam Mission, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Idukki district panchayat.

National Health Authority (NHA) is the apex body responsible for implementing India’s flagship public health insurance schemes.
NHA is organising ‘Arogya Manthan’ to celebrate 5 years of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and 2 years of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

Recently, the Civil Aviation Minister inaugurated the newly developed infrastructure of the Tezu Airport in Arunachal Pradesh.
It was developed at a cost of Rs. 170 crores. The Minister also announced three direct routes from Itanagar under the UDAN 5.0 namely Itanagar to Delhi, Itanagar to Jorhat, and Itanagar to Rupsi which will be operationalised soon.

The ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM) Plus Expert Working Group (EWG) on Counter Terrorism Field Training Exercise (FTX) 2023 is set to be hosted by Russia.
India will be represented by Indian Army Contingent consisting of 32 personnel from a Battalion affiliated to the Rajputana Rifles.
