Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer has unveiled six special postal covers in tribute to  Alluri Sitarama Raju. These commemorative postal covers mark the centenary of the Chilli Post, issued by the Department of Posts as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
Alluri Sitarama Raju’s unique method of sending advance messages to officials, using arrows with attached messages and chili peppers, became known as the “CHILLI POST.” The Rampa Rebellion, initiated by Alluri in 1922 with tribal support, continued until 1927 when Alluri martyred himself.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has introduced a scheme to acknowledge Internet Service Providers (ISPs) for their outstanding contributions to expanding Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) broadband connectivity in rural India.
This initiative aligns with the government’s objective of promoting digital inclusion and fostering socio-economic development in rural areas.

India proposed to launch a G-20 Satellite Mission for Environment and Climate Observation, with an aim to help the countries of the Global South.
Prime Minister Modi said the G-20 satellite mission would be beneficial for all of humanity just as the data obtained from India’s successful Chandrayaan moon mission.

The Manipur Cabinet approved a permanent housing scheme for displaced people and extended the ‘disturbed area’ status of the State.
The State Cabinet also approves the extension of the ‘disturbed area’ status and condemns the ‘unwanted actions’ of the Central security forces on civilians.

The Delhi government is set to unveil its EV Policy 2.0, which will prioritize electric vehicle (EV) retro-fitment as a key strategy for promoting clean energy and extending the lifespan of existing vehicles. EV retro-fitment involves converting traditional petrol or diesel vehicles into electric ones by replacing their internal combustion engines with electric powertrains.

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited and Nayara Energy, a new-age international downstream Energy Company of International scale, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to explore opportunities in the Green Hydrogen and Green Energy space.
The MoU envisages to collaborate and produce Green Hydrogen for Nayara Energy’s captive usage, accelerate decarbonisation and catalyse reduction in carbon footprint.

A three-member delegation led by Election Commissioner Arun Goel visited the Maldives to monitor the 2023 Presidential Election.
The team visited 22 polling stations in Male and Hulhumale to observe the voting process, voter registration, and booth arrangements. The election’s first round did not produce a decisive winner, as neither President Ibrahim Solih nor opposition candidate Mohammed Muizzu secured over 50 percent of the vote.

He announced that he was pleased with the first confirmation by India that it will explore the LSE as an international destination for the direct listing of Indian companies

South-South cooperation is a manifestation of solidarity among peoples and countries of the South that contributes to their national well-being, their national and collective self-reliance and the attainment of development goals.
