India and the US signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on semiconductor supply chain and innovation partnership during the Commercial Dialogue 2023.
The MoU seeks to establish a collaborative mechanism between the two governments on semiconductor supply chain resiliency and diversification in view of the US’s CHIPS and Science Act and India’s Semiconductor Mission.

Millions of people around the world observed the annual Earth Hour to raise awareness about climate change.
The ‘Earth Hour’ event encourages individuals to turn off all lights and electrical appliances at their homes and offices for an hour to promote awareness about energy conservation. It is a global annual initiative of the World-Wide Fund for Nature.

The Ministry of Culture is implementing a Scheme by the name of ‘Scheme of Scholarship and Fellowship for Promotion of Art and Culture’ to protect all genres of artists including folk song artists.
It consists of 3 components including (i) Award of Scholarships to Young Artists in Different Cultural Fields (SYA), (ii) Award of Senior/Junior Fellowships to outstanding persons in different cultural fields and (iii) Award of Tagore National Fellowship for cultural research (TNFCR).

Spring Fiesta 2023 is a first-of-its-kind event organized by the National Gallery of Modern Art. It was organized to celebrate 69 years of the museum.
It was officially inaugurated in 1954 by the then Vice President Dr. S Radhakrishnan. Over 50 stalls will be set up for display and sales at the museum lawns by enthusiastic participants from different walks of life who specialise in items such as handicrafts, ceramics, indigenous art, fashion, and so on.

Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, the eldest son of the UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has been named the crown prince of Abu Dhabi.
This puts him next in line to take over as the leader of the federation. He has served as a member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and as chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office.

Piezoelectric Effect is a phenomenon that involves a body developing an electric current when it is squeezed.
For the first time, scientists reported evidence of this effect in liquids. As researchers applied pressure with a piston to a sample of an ionic liquid in a cylinder, it led to the release of electricity.

Competition (Amendment) 2022 Bill was passed recently at the Indian Parliament.
It allows the Competition Commission of India to impose penalties on entities based on their global turnover as opposed to the current mechanism of taking into account only relevant market turnover.
