Vaikom Satyagraha was a non-violent agitation for the access to the public environs of the Vaikom Temple in the Kingdom of Travancore. It was held in 1924-1925.
Chief Ministers of Kerala and Tamil Nadu is set to jointly inaugurate the centenary celebrations of the Vaikom satyagraha on April 1.

Medium Power Radar ‘Arudhra’ is a 4D multi-function phased array radar developed by DRDO and manufactured by BEL (Bharat Electronics Limited).
The Union Ministry of Defence recently entered into a contract with the BEL for the supply of this radar to the IAF.

The Indian government has sanctioned a project for doubling of Gooty-Pendekallu section of the Hyderabad-Bengaluru railway link.
This section is a major link for trains operating between the northern and southern parts of India. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 352 crore. The Gooty-Pendekallu section is essential in the Guntakal Division, which has frequent train traffic from Bengaluru to Hyderabad.

Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate (AIM for Climate-AIM4C) was launched by the UAE and the US at Conference of Parties-26. India recently joined this grouping in 2023.
AIM4C is a global partnership that aims to accelerate investment and support for climate-smart agriculture & food systems innovation.

G20 Chief Science Advisers’ Roundtable (CSAR) is a government-to-government level initiative of the G20 Presidency that will be held in New Delhi in September this year.
It will focus on the important topic of free and universal access to scientific journals.

The First G20 Trade and Investment Working Group (TIWG) Meeting is set to be held in Mumbai from March 28 to 30 this year.
The three-day event will witness the attendance of over 100 delegates from G20 member states, invitee countries regional groupings and international organizations.

The Special Window for Affordable and Mid-Income Housing (SWAMIH) Investment Fund I is a social impact fund.
The Fund is sponsored by the Ministry of Finance and is managed by SBICAP Ventures Ltd., a State Bank Group company. It was launched to provide assistance to stressed or stalled mid-income and affordable housing projects. As of March 2023, Rs 2,646.57 crore was released to this fund.

The Ministry of Culture is implementing a Scheme by the name of ‘Scheme of Scholarship and Fellowship for Promotion of Art and Culture’ to protect all genres of artists including folk song artists.
It consists of 3 components including (i) Award of Scholarships to Young Artists in Different Cultural Fields (SYA), (ii) Award of Senior/Junior Fellowships to outstanding persons in different cultural fields and (iii) Award of Tagore National Fellowship for cultural research (TNFCR).

Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana was launched by the Central Government to promote the development of rural India. Operational guidelines to implement this scheme was unveiled recently.
The scheme aims to develop Gram Panchayats is envisaged through implementation of existing Government Schemes and Programmes in convergence mode and mobilization of community and private resources.

Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, the eldest son of the UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has been named the crown prince of Abu Dhabi.
This puts him next in line to take over as the leader of the federation. He has served as a member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and as chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office.
