Protein subunit vaccine

Protein subunit vaccine

Protein subunit vaccines or acellular vaccines are vaccines developed using specific isolated proteins from the target virus. As these vaccines triggers the development of immunity in the body using just pieces of the pathogen (as opposed to the entire pathogen being injected into the body), they are considered as safer. China recently approved the emergency use of a domestically developed COVID-19 protein subunit vaccines. This is the 5th COVID vaccine approved for use in China.
