The Tamil Nadu tourism department has recently launched a mobile app “Pinakin” to provide information on major tourist destinations in Tamil Nadu in a phased manner. The app is a free audio guide and is available in two languages “Tamil and English”. The app will cover world heritage tourist sites like Mamallapuram, Thanjavur Big Temple, Gangaikonda Cholapuram and Darasuram. Through the app, users can listen to interesting stories, facts and trivia about the sites. Beside this, the application also provides other information such as ticket prices, parking details and dress code.
