O.Panneerselvam is the new Tamil Chief Minister

As the Tamilians come to terms with the grief on the death of their beloved Chief Minister J. Jayalalitham, senior AIADMK leader O. Panneerselvam has been elected as the new AIADMK leader post midnight and sworn-in as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

In a quiet ceremony at Raj Bhawan, Panneerselvam was administered the oath of office by the Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao. This was the third time when he was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The rest 31 members of the ministry were also sworn-in along with him. Mr. Panneerselvam is faced with the challenging role to keep the party together in the post-Jayalalitha phase. The charisma of the deceased leader is unmatched and with four years to go, the task is humongous to be able to resonate with people.

The meeting of the Legislative Party was chaired by the AIADMK presidium chairman E.Madhusoothanan along with other senior leaders.
