Karnataka Brahmin Development Board

Karnataka Brahmin Development Board was set up in July last year with an outlay of Rs.25 crore. It is in charge of uplifting the weaker sections of Brahmin community in the state. Brahmin community in the state accounts for around 4 per cent of the state’s population. A year since its inception, the board has launched two new schemes – Arundhati and Maitreyi schemes – to benefit the brides from Brahmin community.
