Is there a balance between individual liberty and social necessity?

In any modern state, there cannot exist any individual right which is absolute or unrestricted in nature. If people were given complete and absolute liberty without any social control then it would have resulted into complete collapse. Thus, in order to strike a balance between the individual liberty and social necessity, the Indian Constitution enumerated Fundamental Rights, but with these rights, it also defined some limits within which they can be curtailed. This way the Indian Constitution imposed reasonable restrictions on individual’s liberties in the interest of society.
