Rising golfer Gurbani Singh has regained the Usha All India Ladies Matchplay title after a gap of three years. Sixteen-year old Gurbani outplayed Gursimar Badwal in the final of the National Championships in Kolkata. By winning the title, Gurbani underlined her status as the top amateur in the country. Three years back, she had become the youngest to win the All India Ladies title for the first time. The Trophy for the Championships, which was being held for the 96th time, was given away by Indian women’s boxing legend and Olympic bronze-medallist M C Mary Kom.
