Flights grounded in Edmonton due to dense fog

Very dense fogs caused delays at Edmonton international airport on Saturday morning. The visibility was reduced to 1/8 of a mile (0.2 km) for hours together. The service began shortly at noon after the sun rose. However, the dense fog is to persist for a few more days. SCientists say that a layer of warm air puts a lid on the atmosphere that is nearest to the ground. This traps the fog for a longer time even after sunrise. The air quality might improve after the high pressure drifts. This abnormal shift is due to climate change.
