Deoghar science centre opens in Amjo with robotics and drone learning facilities
A science centre built at a cost of ₹1.5 crore in Amjo village, Devipur block, Deoghar district, was inaugurated by Jharkhand minister Hafizul Hasan Ansari on Friday. The centre is housed in the former building of an upgraded primary school.
Technology and learning facilities
Students can explore robotics, drone technology and 3D printing, as well as virtual reality headsets, augmented reality models, 3D holograms and interactive digital projections. Exhibits include a telescope, models of Indian space missions and a planetarium dome. Biology displays cover the human body and fossils; physics demonstrations include a Newton’s cradle, magnetic levitation, a plasma ball and a prism. The centre also has mineral samples, a coal-mine replica and renewable-energy models.
Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuwania announced educational visits for students from all government schools in the district.
Important Facts for Exams
- Robotics design: Robotics learning links four design elements: a power source, mechanical construction, a control system and software, which may run by remote control or artificial intelligence.
- Drone flight designs: Multirotor drones generate lift with vertically oriented propellers and can hover; fixed-wing drones need forward motion for lift but generally cover more distance per unit energy.
