Eligible candidates must ensure that they possess the necessary qualifications and fulfil all the required criteria before applying for the posts.

Essential Qualification

| 2 | Trainee Marine Engineer | Should have completed 4 years Degree in Marine Engineering from any IMU affiliated colleges/ Institutes approved by DG Shipping. |
| 3 | Trainee Electrical Officer | Should have completed 4 years Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Electronics & Telecommunication/Communication Engineering or Electronics & Instrumentation recognized by any State or Central Government or AICTE and must have completed 4 months Electro Technical Officer course from DG Shipping Approved Institutes. |
| 4 | NCV (Trainees) (GP Rating) | Minimum Xth Class Pass from recognized Education Board and Pre-Sea G.P Rating Course and passed the Exit Examination approved by D.G Shipping with minimum 60% aggregate marks. |

Selection Procedure
Selection of candidates for all the posts would be made on the basis of the performance of the eligible candidates in the following:
- Written Test/interview
Age
Trainee Electrical Officer: 30 years as on 31.07.2019
NCV (Trainees): 25 years as on 15.09.2019
Instrument Engineer: 35 years as on 31.07.2019
Upper Age limit is relaxable by:
3 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer).
5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Fee
General/OBC candidates: Rs 1000
SC/ST candidates: Nil
