Notes:- UNESCO is in contact with Ukrainian authorities to mark cultural sites and monuments with the distinctive “Blue Shield” emblemof the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict to avoid deliberate or accidental damages.
- The Blue Shield, formerly the International Committee of the Blue Shield, is an international organization founded in 1996 to protect the world’s cultural heritage from threats such as armed conflict and natural disasters. Its name derives from the blue shield symbol, which used to signify cultural sites protected by the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in Armed Conflict.
- 1954 Hague Convention is the first and the most comprehensive multilateral treaty dedicated exclusively to the protection of cultural heritage in times of peace as well as during an armed conflict. India is party to Hague Convention 1954.
- United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN). It seeks to build peace through international cooperation in Education, the Sciences and Culture. Three UNESCO member states are not UN members: Cook Islands, Niue, and Palestine. While three UN member states (Israel, Liechtenstein, United States) are not UNESCO members.
- The International Committee of the Red Crossis a humanitarian organization based in Geneva. It is the oldest and most honoured organization within the movement and one of the most widely recognized organizations in the world, having won three Nobel Peace Prizes (in 1917, 1944, and 1963).

Districts such as Bagalkot, Belagavi, Dharwad and Bijapur district of Karnataka as well as Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and Solapur districts of Maharashtra will only be able to carry the tag of “Kolhapuri chappal”.
- Kasuti is a traditional form of folk embroidery practiced in the state of Karnataka. Kasuti work which is very intricate sometimes involves putting up to 5,000 stitches by hand. The Karnataka Handicrafts Development Corporation (KHDC) holds a geographical indications (GI) protection for Kasuti embroidery.
- Kashmiri carpets were granted GI-tag in June 2016 by the Geographical Indication Registry of the Department of Industry Promotion and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Notes:- Leader of Opposition is a statutory office provided for in the Salary and Allowances of Leaders of Opposition in the Parliament Act, 1977.
- The leader of the party in opposition to the government which has the greatest number becomes the Leader of Opposition. The Speaker needs to recognise him/her as the Leader of Opposition. The law is clear that the Speaker is required to recognise the leader of the numerically largest party in opposition as the leader of opposition. The rule that a party should have at least 10% of the members of the House for the Speaker to recognise someone as the Leader of Opposition is not part of this act.
- G V Mavalankar, the first Lok Sabha Speaker, said the main opposition party’s strength must equal the quorum i.e. 10% of the total strength.
