The Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Ministry has introduced a Green Credit programme, where an individual or entity can earn green credit and trade it on a dedicated exchange.
Green Credit refers to a unit of an incentive provided for a specified activity; delivering a positive impact on the environment. This programme is a follow-up action of the ‘LiFE’- (Lifestyle for Environment) campaign. The new programme is voluntary.

Australians have roundly rejected greater rights for Indigenous citizens, ending plans to amend the country’s 122-year-old constitution after a divisive and racially tinged referendum campaign.
Around 59% of people had voted against a proposal to acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders within the 1901 constitution for the first time. The referendum could only pass with support from a majority of voters nationally and a majority of voters in at least four of the country’s six states.

Armenia’s President Vahagn Khachaturyan has signed the ratification of the Rome Statute, recognising the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC) despite Russian warnings.
ICC issued an arrest warrant for President Vladimir Putin over the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia. Armenia says joining the ICC would allow it to investigate war crimes by Azerbaijan after Baku’s offensive to retake Nagorno-Karabakh.

The U.K. and Tamil Nadu collaborate on a smart technology project for sustainable water, waste, and resource management.
The UK-backed ‘Smart district’ project aims to address global sustainability challenges by deploying sensors across the district, gathering real-time data on water and waste management, and environmental quality in the state.

The World Food Day was established in 1945 by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). For the year 2023, the theme of the World Food Day is – “Water is life, water is food. Leave no one behind”.
