Content Delivery Network (CDN) is a geographically distributed group of servers that work together to provide fast delivery of Internet content. Majority of web traffic across the world is routed through CDNs.
Recently, aeveral big websites around the world including amazon, reddit and quora went down for about half an hour, because of a major issue with the CDN of American cloud computing services provider ‘Fastly’.

United Nations rights experts warned of mass deaths from starvation and disease in eastern Myanmar.
The UN also called for urgent international action after the violence in Kayah had displaced an estimated 100,000 people. Those displaced people are seeking safety in forests and other neighbouring states.

El Salvador has become the first country in the world to formally adopt ‘Bitcoin’ as legal tender after the Congress approved President Nayib Bukele’s proposal to adopt the cryptocurrency.
The use of Bitcoin as legal tender will go into law in 90 days. The government will guarantee the convertibility to the exact value in dollars at the moment of each transaction.

Recently, a team of wildlife enthusiasts have sighted two species of monal birds on Mount Eko Dumbing at 4,173 metres above mean sea level. It is located in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
Himalayan monal (Lophophorus impejanus) is widely distributed from Afghanistan to northeast India, the Sclater’s (Lophophorus sclateri) monal is found in China and Myanmar.

Notes:
The Union Cabinet has approved an increase in minimum support prices (MSP) for various kharif crops or the summer-sown crops for marketing season 2021-22.
MSP of paddy was hiked by ₹72 to ₹1,940 per quintal for 2021-22 crop year from ₹1,868 per quintal last year. The highest absolute increase in MSP over the previous year is recommended for sesamum (₹452 per quintal) followed by tur and urad (₹300 per quintal each).
