Sachin Tendulkar inducted into Laureus Sports Academy

Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar on 15 April 2015 was inducted into the prestigious Laureus Sports Academy.
Along with him four other sportspersons were inducted as new members in the Academy. They are

  • Yao Ming- Retired Chinese professional basketball player.
  • Tegla Loroupe- Kenyan long-distance runner.
  • Li Xiaopeng- Chinese gymnast.
  • Yang Yang- Former Chinese short track speed skater Yang Yang.

About Sachin Tendulkar

  • In his 24 year’s cricket career, he had played for India in 200 Tests, 463 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and one Twenty20 International.
  • Test career: In 200 Test matches he had scored 15,921 runs at an average of 53.78. It comprised of 51 centuries and 68 half centuries. Highest test score was 248 runs (not out).
  • ODI career: In 463 ODI matches he had scored 18,426 runs at an average of 44.83. It comprised of 49 centuries and 96 half centuries. Highest ODI score was 200 runs (not out).
