P.N.Dhar passes away

Professor of Economics Prithvi Nath Dhar (94), the first Principal Secretary of Indira Gandhi in 1970, passed away in New Delhi. He was the professor of Economics in the University of Delhi. He was the only person who had joined Prime Minister’s Office in the year 1970.
He was on the team which accompanied Indira Gandhi when she had inked Shimla Agreement with Pakistan after the War of Bangladesh in the year 1971. Dhar was one among the founders of Delhi School of Economics. He also served as the Assistant Secretary General in United Nations, Research and Policy Analysis in New York during the year 1976-78.
