James Anderson became the most successful pace bowler in the history of international cricket after overtaking Glenn McGrath. The 40-year-old pace legend accomplished this feat in the second Test against South Africa.
With 951 wickets in 287 matches, Anderson is also the fourth most successful bowler in the entire international cricket, after Sri Lankan spinner Sri Lanka’s Muthiah Muralidaran (1,347 wickets), Australia’s Shane Warne (1,001 wickets) and India’s Anil Kumble (956 wickets).

PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development) was announced in the National Educational Policy (NEP).
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and the state education boards are collaborating to draw up a ‘benchmark framework’ to bring uniformity across state and central boards. PARAKH will be the national single-window source for all assessment-related information. It will oversee the periodic tests like the National Achievement Survey (NAS) and State Achievement Survey.

A wildlife enthusiast from Karnataka has discovered a new crab species from the Western Ghats of Karnataka.
Named as ‘Ghatiana Dwivarna’, this bright coloured crab is the 75th fresh water crab of the Western Ghats. It is a fresh water crab that lives under the tiny rocks in thick dense forests of Western Ghats. The crab majorly feeds on algae but also eats small insects of the mosquito family.

The State cabinet of Rajasthan approved the Handicrafts Policy-2022 under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
The objective of Rajasthan Handicrafts Policy 2022 is to empower 6 lakh craftsman and artisans across the state. Under the new policy National-level Handicrafts Week will be organised every year in December and artisans will be felicitated.

Ramon Magsaysay Award is also regarded as Asia’s version of the Nobel Prize. Named after the late Philippine president, it is presented annually to individuals or organizations in Asia who undertakes selfless service and transformational actions.
This year’s award has been presented to four people across the world for their selfless service to the people of Asia.

Former USA President Barack Obama won the best narrator Emmy Award for his Netflix documentary series ‘Our Great National Parks’.
Barack Obamas’ production company, Higher Ground, is behind the series on national parks around the world. The former President has already received two Grammy awards. He becomes only the second US president in history to win an Emmy.

Blue Energy, a start-up backed by a Singapore-based firm, unveiled India’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) fuelled green truck near Pune.
Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the green truck facility which has an installed capacity of 10,000 trucks annually.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar recently launched the Gujarati translation of his book, “The India Way: Strategies for an Uncertain World” in Gujarat.
The original version of the book in English was launched in the year 2020. India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar seeks to address the question of ‘what should be the direction of India’s foreign policy as the global order changes?’ in the book.

Cyrus Mistry, the 54-year-old former chairman of Tata Sons, has died in a road accident. Mistry was the sixth chairman of the Tata group and the second not named Tata
He was removed as chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata conglomerate, after India’s top court ruled in Tata Group’s favour. The Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) Group, founded by Mistry’s father, currently holds a near 18 percent stake in Tata group.

India is set to celebrate National Cinema Day on September 16. It was announced by the Multiplex Association of India (MAI).
The event will take place across 4,000 screens in the country to celebrate the successful reopening of cinemas. During the occasion, tickets will be priced at Rs 75 in all the participating cinemas.  Various companies like PVR, INOX, and Carnival among others have agreed to be a part of the celebrations.
