As per the Special Bulletin released by the Registrar General of India, India has witnessed a significant decline in the Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) to 97 per lakh live births in 2018-20.
The figure was at130 per lakh live births in 2014-16. With this, India accomplished the National Health Policy target for MMR of less than 100 per lakh live births. The SDG target is 70 per lakh live births by 2030.

Gautam Adani-led Adani Properties won the bid for the renovation of Dharavi, the second-largest slum colony in Asia. The Maharashtra government authorities opened the financial bids for the Dharavi redevelopment project, one of the largest redevelopment projects in India.  DLF and Shree Naman Developers were the other two bidders who competed.

India supported UAE’s proposal to include the element of digitization in the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO)next Strategic Plan.
UAE also proposed the adoption of a maritime single window system as a part of the digitization initiative to help in resolving the regulatory bottlenecks faced in the marine industry. This was announced by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW).

India has provided financial assistance of USD 100 million to the Maldives government to help tackle the economic challenges faced by the country.
The financial support of USD 100 million to the Maldives government will be provided through subscription in Maldives’ Government Domestic Treasury bonds by State Bank of India, Male.

Uttarakhand government has named Prasoon Joshi as the state’s brand ambassador. He is a native of Uttarakhand, is a prominent member of the Indian advertising and media industry.
Earlier this month, the state government bestowed the Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman honour for his contributions to art, literature, culture and advertising. His campaigns on malnutrition, polio eradication, women’s empowerment, student suicide and Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan have been popular.

The servers of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) remains hacked for over a week, after AIIMS reported a failure in its server.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has joined the investigation into the alleged ransomware attack, with agencies including the India Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN), Delhi Police, Intelligence Bureau, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Ministry of Home Affairs.

Indian President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the International Gita Mahotsav (IGM)-2022 in Kurukshetra in Haryana.
This year, Nepal is the partner country, while Madhya Pradesh is the partner State of the event. The President also launched ‘Nirogi Haryana’, a health check-up scheme, and an e-ticketing system of public road transport facilities.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has extended the deadline for third party apps to comply with UPI Market share guidelines by 2 years.
The earlier deadline to meet the market cap norms was December 31, 2022. With this, UPI payments market leaders, PhonePe and Google Pay have to meet the market cap deadline of 30% to December 31, 2024.

The NASA astronauts Josh Cassada and Frank Rubio have successfully installed Roll-Out Solar Array (iROSA) on the starboard truss structure of the International space station.
The astronauts have also disconnected a cable allowing restoring a power channel to 75% of its operating capacity.

Tamil Nadu Government has raised the monthly pension amount of differently-abled persons from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1500 from January 2023.
An expert committee has been formed by the state to identify vacancies in all the departments where differently abled can be employed.
