India’s 1st Certified Organic Fruit – Arunachal Pradesh Kiwis have been launched by the Union Minister Kiren Rijiju.
Arunachal Pradesh has become the first Indian state to obtain organic certification for Kiwi under the scheme – Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North East Region.

The Centre has constituted a Central Vista Oversight Committee to directly oversee the Rs 20,000 crore project for a period of two years.
As per the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, former Finance Secretary Ratan P Watal has been appointed the Chairman of the five-member Central Vista Oversight Committee. Joint Secretary, MoHUA will be Convenor of the committee.

National Professor Rafiqul Islam, is a scholar, and cultural activist from Bangladesh. He recently passed away at the age of 87.
The linguist actively participated in the Language Movement in 1952 and he was made the national professor by the government in 2018. He received the Independence Award, Ekushey Padak, and the Bangla Academy Literary Award. He was also awarded the International Mother Language Award.

Archaeological ruins of Liangzhu City are a World Heritage site. Archeologists have resolved the mystery of the Liangzhu culture in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD).
It was among the world’s most advanced Neolithic cultures. Archeological evidence suggests that the Liangzhu ancient city was abandoned, and then the culture collapsed. In a recent research, a layer of clay points to a possible connection between the demise of the civilisation and floods of the Yangtze River or floods from the East China Sea.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra was appointed as the chairman of India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
ACC has approved the Tourism Ministry’s proposal to split the post of chairman and managing director of India Tourism Development Corporation into chairman, ITDC, and Managing director (MD), ITDC. GKV Rao, IAS Officer will hold the post of managing director of ITDC.

India recently joined the G20 Troika, which now includes Indonesia, Italy and India. Indonesia has assumed the G20 Presidency and will convene G20 meetings throughout the year ending with the G20 Leaders` Summit on October 30-31, 2022.
The theme of this year’s Summit is “Recover Together Recover Stronger”. India will assume the G20 Presidency from Indonesia and will convene the G20 Leaders` Summit for the first time in India in 2023.

Kala Sanskriti Vikas Yojana (KSVY) is an umbrella scheme under Ministry of Culture for the promotion of art and culture in the country. The Ministry implements a financial grant scheme- Scheme of Financial Assistance for the Development of Buddhist/Tibetan Culture and Art, under KSVY.
The scheme aims to strengthen the voluntary Buddhist/Tibetan Organizations including the monasteries engaged in propagation and scientific development of Buddhist/Tibetan Culture and tradition and in research in related fields.

Paika Rebellion was an armed rebellion against Company Rule in India in 1817 which took place in parts of Odisha.
The Union Government, in consultation with the Indian Council of Historical Research has clarified that the Paika Rebellion had set an example for the masses in India against the company rule, but the same cannot be termed as the first War of Independence.

The Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) has been adjudged as the ‘number one Cooperative’ among the top 300 cooperatives in the world. The ranking is based on the ratio of turnover over the gross domestic product (GDP) per capita of the country.
This rank signifies that IFFCO is contributing significantly to the GDP and economic growth of the nation.

The Belt and Road Initiative, also known as the One Belt One Road initiative is an infrastructure development strategy of China, adopted in the year 2013.
Recently, China has launched the first cross-border train as a part of the Belt and Road Initiative, connecting China and the land-locked South East Nation Laos.
