According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Meghalaya and Assam, 18.33 square kilometer will be with Meghalaya while 18.46 sq km will be with Assam.
This is out of the 36.79 sq km in respect to the 6 out of 12 areas of differences claimed by the Government of Meghalaya in 2011.

Delhi government’s flagship ‘Desh ke Mentor’ programme aims to support Government school students in their career planning stages.
The Directorate of Education of Delhi Government has issued a Code of conduct for mentors who have signed up for the programme to regulate interactions between them and students assigned to them. Earlier, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights expressed concerns regarding the safety of children.

United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) recently released the ‘State of World Population: Seeing the Unseen: The case for action in the neglected crisis of unintended pregnancy’ Report.
As per the report, nearly half of all pregnancies, totalling 121 million each year throughout the world, are unintended. Globally, an estimated 257 million women who want to avoid pregnancy are not using safe and modern methods of contraception.

SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch launched the ‘Manthan’, a six-week long ideathon, in association with various institutions including BSE, NSE, NSDL, CDSL, KFintech, CAMS, LinkInTime and MCX.
It will facilitate the creation of a set of ideas and innovative solutions related to the securities market in India.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the Centre decided to reduce the disturbed areas under the AFSPA in Nagaland, Assam, and Manipur after decades.
Centre had constituted a high-level committee to examine the possibility of lifting AFSPA in Nagaland – after the killing of 14 civilians in an army operation in December 2021. It has extended the ambit of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in three districts of Arunachal Pradesh.

The plenary body of Chile’s Constitutional Convention formally approved the Rights of Nature within its proposed constitutional text.
The Chilean people will now vote on the final version. After the vote, Chile could become the second such country in the world besides Ecuador.

Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur launched the logo, jersey, mascot and anthem of the Khelo India University Games 2021 (KIUG 2021).
The mascot is an elephant named as ‘Veera’. The event to be held in Bengaluru, postponed due to the ongoing Covid crisis last year, will be the second edition of KIUG. It includes Yogasana and Mallakhamb for the first time.

Arunachal Pradesh signed a pact with WWF India to develop the State Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (SBSAP).
The SBSAP will be aligned with the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework and Pakke Declaration. The state cabinet adopted the ‘Pakke Tiger Reserve 2047 Declaration on Climate Change Resilient and Responsive Arunachal Pradesh’, last year.

Viktor Orban, Hungary’s nationalist Prime Minister has been elected again for the successive fourth term.
The 58-year old pro-Putin leader has been heading the country since 2010. He is also the country’s longest-serving leader since the fall of communism in 1989. In the latest elections, his Fidesz party was set to contril135 seats of the 199-seat Parliament.

The Police Department in Chittoor of Andhra Pradesh has set up ‘She Auto’ stands, the first of its kind in the state.
It aims to provide safe transportation to women and girl students. Tirupati is the first city in the state to set up special auto stands for women.
