As per a recent report by Rystad Energy, by replacing humans with robots on oil rigs, the US oil industry could save more than $7 billion in wages
The report suggested that two out of every 10 oil workers in drilling, operational support and maintenance of oil rigs could be replaced by automation over the next decade.

Special forces of India carried out a joint military exercise with the US Special forces at Bakloh in Himachal Pradesh.
The 11th edition of the joint special forces exercise ‘Vajra Prahar 2021’ was held with an aim to share the best practices and experiences in joint mission planning and operational tactics. In February 2021, the Armies of both the countries carried out ‘Exercise Yudh Abhyas’.

The Supreme Court appointed a four-member committee to study the three new controversial agricultural laws in January 2021. It had temporarily suspended the implementation of the three farm laws until further notice.
The members include P. K. Mishra, Anil Ghanwat, Ashok Gulati and Bhupinder Singh Mann. The panel has submitted its report to the Supreme Court recently.

The Department of Science and Technology announced that Scientists have developed a new technique to track the huge bubbles of gas, which are ejected from the Sun.
This new technique will be used in India’s first solar mission Aditya-L1. A software named Computer Aided CME Tracking Software (CACTus) and CMEs Identification in Inner Solar Corona (CIISCO) algorithm have been developed.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that India holds the world record for fastest road construction.
India has entered Guinness World Records by building a 2.5 km 4-lane concrete road within 24 hours. It also built 25-km bitumen Solapur-Bijapur road within 24 hours. A record construction of 37 km per day was achieved in financial year 2020-21.

In the state of Telengana, India’s largest floating solar power plant is proposed to be set up with a generation capacity of 100MW. The unit is coming up in Ramagundam.
The project is being commissioned by National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) at an estimated cost of Rs.423 crore with 4.5 lakh photovoltaic panels.

As per a recent release by FIS (leading provider of financial technology solutions to banks and merchants), the number of real-time financial transactions in India has grown to 41 million transactions per day. This number is more than double that of the last year.
In terms of growth rate of real time financial transactions, the list is topped by Bahrain with 657% growth.

The first farm-based solar power plant under Prime Minister’s Kisan Urja Suraksha Evum Utthan Mahabhiyan (KUSUM) scheme was implemented in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The 1 MW project, which has been established on 3.50 acres of farmland, can produce 17 lakh units of electricity every year. It has been developed at a cost of Rs 3.70 crores. The state aims to develop a capacity of 38,000 MW renewable energy.

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has recently approved a legislation that allows him to hold office for an additional two “six-year term”. The President, who is in power for the last 2 decades, can remain in power till 2036 (up to his age of 80 years).
This change is a part of constitutional reforms brought by Putin last year.

India recently hosted the Meeting of BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors 2021. It was co-chaired by Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and RBI governor Shaktikanta Das.
Finance Minister addressed the meeting virtually from New Delhi. Issues regarding New development bank, social infrastructure, IMF reforms, fintech for SME and financial inclusion, customs cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
