Ministry of Tourism launches campaign – 777 Days of Incredible Indian Himalayas

With an aim to attract more foreign tourists and bring into the notice of the world that a major part of the Himalayan range is in India, the Union Ministry of Tourism has launched –777 Days of Incredible Indian Himalayas on the occasion of World Tourism Day- September 27.
The Ministry of Tourism has planned some incentives and programmes during the 777 days of the campaign which include:

The Ministry will meet 50% of Peak fee chargeable by Indian Mountaineering Foundation from the climbing expeditions.
Special adventure programmes like trekking, river rafting, Himalayan run, mountain and bike events will be organized in collaboration with Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI).

Note: Around 73% of the Himalayan range lies in India.
