HC directs ESPN to provide add free live signal of ICC Champions Trophy to DD
A bench of justices which is hearing a petition filed by ESPN TV channel which sought a direction to Prasar Bharati not to insist on the live signal of the ICC Trophy without any commercial, has directed ESPN to provide live signals of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2013 without any commercials. This is an interim order and the pleadings in the matter are yet to be completed.
The direction has been given so that Doordarshan would be able to telecast the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 as per commitment and object of the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act.
