Haradhan Bandopadhyay passes away

Famous screen and theater actor Haradhan Bandopadhyay (86), who had starred in many films of legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray, passed away.

Celebrated films in which he featured include ‘Mahanagar’, ‘Sakha Prashakha’, ‘Sonar Kella’ and ‘Jai Baba Felunath’, directed by Ray. Bandopadhyay, also appeared in the  recent Bollywood film ‘Barfi!’.

He was honored with "Banga Vibhushan" in 2012 by the Bengal government.
