French Open 2013: Serena Williams won the women's title
World no.1 American tennis player Serena Williams defeated her Russian opponent Maria Sharapova to clinch the French Open 2013 women’s title.
This victory brought up her 16th grand slam title, taking her to within two of the great 1980s duo of Chris Evert and Martina Navatilova.
