EC Act permits the government to have control over the production, supply and distribution at fair price.In this Act government has the power to declare a commodity as an essential commodity so that its readily available. This helps in equal and fair price distribution of the commodities and keeps a checks on traders to curb exploitation by thems.It was implemented in 1955.
