Explain the meaning and importance of the following in public services: (1) Fortitude (2) Humility (3) Altruism (4) Rectitude

Fortitude
Fortitude refers to the strength of mind that gives one the capacity to endure adversity with courage. Any individual engaged in public service will face multiple challenges in the fulfillment of their goals. A person with fortitude will not give up easily, and despite disappointing results or setbacks, will continually fight to improve the system.
Humility
Humility is simply humbleness. Lack of false pride is important for a public servant to perform his duties effectively. An immodest person will be occupied with his own achievements, instead of looking for ways to better the life of the public at large. Also, a humble person does not blow his own horn, and lets his work represent him
Altruism
Compassion, empathy and understanding are required of any person engaged in public service. Unselfish concern for the welfare of others, will enable an altruistic person to put the needs of the public before his own. One cannot strive to resolve the problems faced by others unless one possesses the able to think from their point of view.
Rectitude
Rectitude refers to morally correct behavior or thinking. A certain level of righteousness is required of a persons engaged in public service. A person in public service must be an effective leader, and without rectitude no leader will have followers to lead. A public servant must lead by example, by living a life of rectitude.
