The 128th edition of Durand Football Cup Tournament 2016 will be started from August 28, 2016 and will continue till September 11, 2016. In the current edition, 8 teams from Indian League of All India Football Federation and four Services teams will participate. The cash prizes of Rs 45 lakh and Rs 20 lakh is instituted for the winners and runners up teams respectively and the teams reaching the semi-finals will also receive a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh each. The Durand Cup is a prestigious football tournament of India and is the oldest tournament in Asia and 3rd oldest in the world after Football Association Cup of England and Scotland Football Association Cup.
