National Flag Day, also called Tiranga Adoption Day, is observed every year on July 22. On July 22, 1947, the Constituent Assembly of India officially adopted the Indian National Flag, known as the Tiranga (meaning Tricolour). The current Tiranga has saffron, white, and green horizontal stripes with the Ashoka Chakra in the center, replacing the earlier charkha symbol.
