The Union Human Resource Ministry has selected Microsoft as their technical partner for it’s “SWAYAM” platform to launch 2,000 massive open online courses for about three crore students. These courses will be available on SWAYAM platform by partner institution the National MOOCs coordinator. For this, UGC (Credit Framework for online learning courses through SWAYAM) Regulation, 2016 has been finalized by the ministry for successful launch of the app. Using this app and portal, students of various streams including science and technology will be able to access and download very high quality UGC approved course content free of cost for their studies. To accomplish the task, a deal of Rs. 38 crore has been signed between Microsoft and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The SWAYAM stands for Study Webs of Active- learning for Young Aspiring Minds.

The movie is directed by debutante filmmaker Raam Reddy. Beside this, the movie has recently won the 2016 National Award for Best Feature film in Kannada.

The Union Finance Ministry has stated that by using “eNPS” platform, the Non-resident Indians (NRIs) can now open National Pension Savings (NPS) accounts online if they have Aadhaar Card or PAN card. The NPS accounts can be opened both on repatriable and non-repatriable basis. On a repatriable basis, an NRI will have to remit the amount through his/her NRE/FCNR/NRO account. For non-repatriable scheme, NRIs will be able to join NPS through their NRE/FCNR/NRO accounts at the time of maturity or during partial withdrawal. The NPS funds would be deposited only in their NRO accounts. Earlier, NRIs have been allowed to open NPS account by personally approaching banks.
