Union Govt issues new guidelines to stop the misuse of Info Technology Act
The Union government of India issued new guidelines to stop misuse of Section 66A of the Information Technology Act.
What are the new guidelines?
As per the new guidelines, the cases dealing with spreading messages of reported hatred by electronic medium will be decided by a senior police officer not below the rank of DCP in rural and urban areas. In metropolitan cities, approval from an IGP rank officer will be required for registration of cases relating to Section 66(a) of IT Act.
