Playback singer Asha Bhosle awarded Lifetime Achievement Award at DIFF

Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award, 2014 at the 11th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) for her contribution to Indian cinema.
Acclaimed Egyptian actor Nour El Sherif also received the DIFF Lifetime Achievement Award, 2014 for his work in more than 40 films in a career that spanned almost five decades.
Asha Bhosle’s contribution to Indian Cinema
She is renowned for her versatility as a singer in various forms like folk songs, Indian classical music, pop songs, ghazals and bhajans etc. As an octogenarian singer she has recorded more than 12,000 songs and holds Guinness Book of World Records for it.
Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) – DIFF is an annual film festival held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Each year DIFF provides platform and presents new and exciting cinema from the Arab world, Asia, Africa and beyond. It was started in year 2004. It is a not-for-profit cultural event, presented and organised by Dubai Entertainment & Media Organization.
