Peru: Ollanta Humala finishes 100 days in office
Ollanta Humala is the President of Peru. He won the 2011 presidential election and was elected as President of Peru in the second round, defeating Keiko Fujimori. Ollanta Humala recently finishesd his first 100 days in office with several key campaign promises fulfilled, including a new tax scheme for the mining industry and a “consultation law” meant to reduce social conflicts. He is known for doubling the the number of households covered in the “Juntos” Programmes. Junotos means “Together” and it is a cash transfer program for families in extreme poverty and single mothers in need.
