Notes:
Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) was launched to organize traditional industries and artisans into clusters, which will make them competitive and increase their income.
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Nitin Gadkari has recently inaugurated 50 artisan-based SFURTI clusters across 18 States. The Union MSME Ministry has funded Rs 85 crore for development of these SFURTI clusters.

Indian social activist Anjali Bharadwaj has been selected as one of 12 anti-corruption champions announced by the United States.
The 48-year-old activist served as an active member of the Right to Information Movement in India for over two decades. She is also the founder of the Satark Nagrik Sangathan (SNS), which aims to promote transparency and accountability in government.

The Government of Japan headed by Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has recently appointed Tetsushi Sakamoto as the country’s 1st ever Minister for Loneliness.
This decision has been made to tackle the rise in suicide rates due to COVID crisis. Also, the minister is responsible for managing the fall in birth rate in the country.

A dragonfly survey jointly conducted by the Forest Department and Ferns Nature Conservation Society (FNCS), concluded recently in Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Sanctuary is located in Kerala in the Western Ghats. The survey lasted for nearly 4 months and 84 species of odonates were spotted during the survey. Odonates are the order of insects comprising dragonflies and damselflies.

The Indian Army is in the process of acquiring 556 Augmented Reality Head Mounted Display (ARHMD) systems.
As per a recent communication from the Defence Ministry, the ARHMD system may be considered as an enhancement to the Land-based Air Defence Weapon Systems. The Army also signed a contract for the construction of eight Missile-cum-Ammunition (MCA) barges.

“International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD)” is an international non-governmental organization, which shares knowledge of design, construction, maintenance, and impact of large dams, based at Paris.
The ICOLD ‘Symposium on Sustainable Development of Dams & River Basins’ was inaugurated by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister for Jal Shakti. It has been organised with Central Water Commission (CWC), Dam Rehabilitation Improvement Project (DRIP) and National Hydrology Project (NHP).

Vijay Sampla, former Union Minster recently took charge as the chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), after being appointed by the President of India.
He served as the Union Minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment from 2014 to 2019. Ram Shankar Katheria was earlier the head of NCSC.

The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched the field assessment for 6th edition of the Swachh Survekshan 2021.
The Swachh Survekshan commenced in the year 2016 as a competition enhancing framework to encourage cities to achieve high standards of sanitation under the Swatch Bharat Mission.

The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, has proposed to collaborate with Indian Institute of Technology Bombay for creating a Centre of Excellence in gaming and other related areas.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar stated that the centre is in its advanced stage of preparation and would come into effect in the next session of Parliament during the current year.

Recently, digital financial services platform major Paytm has achieved more than 1.2 billion monthly transactions. This spurt in number is mainly due to offline payments and financial services.
With this achievement, Paytm becomes the largest digital platform in financial sector which promotes all payment methods like Wallet, UPI, cards and net-banking
