Little Bloodtail is a small dragonfly, which has wide presence in the state of Kerala. This species of dragonfly can be spotted from the beginning of June till September.
Since the life cycle of little bloodtail is very closely linked with monsoon, they are considered as a harbinger of monsoon (which announces the arrival of an event).

The Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yediyurappa has launched a portal named Akanksha, which would provide details on all the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in Karnataka.
This comprehensive portal would help the state Government officials, corporates and donors. It seeks to improve transparency in utilisation of CSR funds by the Government.

The State Government of Goa headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has launched a solar-based electrification programme to provide power connectivity to rural households of the state.
This project aims to deliver renewable power to the households, where grid connectivity is not possible. In this regard, the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) has entered into an agreement with Convergence Energy Services Ltd (CESL).

The Union Government has launched the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) 4.0 and has expanded the scope of the scheme by including the civil aviation sector and loan to health institutions for on-site oxygen generation.
Under ECLGS 4.0 a maximum loan of 40% of the outstanding loan, or Rs 200 crore whichever is lower can be availed by borrowers from financial institutions.

Race To Zero is a global campaign to mobilise support from across the world for a healthy zero carbon recovery.
Recently, World leaders convened at the Climate Breakthroughs Summit, which is a collaboration between the World Economic Forum, UN Climate Champions, the UK COP26 Presidency and partners. During the summit, several companies joined the Race to Zero campaign.

The Research Design & Standards Organization (RDSO), which functions under the Indian Railways has recently become the country’s first institution to be declared as Standard Developing Organization (SDO).
Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) launched the scheme of ‘Recognition of SDO’, to attain the “One Nation One Standard” of the Government.

President Joe Biden’s administration of the USA has formally ended the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), which denies asylum seekers entry into the USA.
Under the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), which was brought into force in 2019, individuals who arrived at the Southwest Border of the USA were returned to Mexico to await removal proceedings in US courts.

The state of Mizoram has been severely affected by African Swine Fever (ASF), which has claimed more than 4,700 pigs in over two months, since the first case was reported.
As of now, the state government has declared 99 villages and localities as “infected areas”, of which 56 are located in Aizawl District, which is the state capital.

The Government of India has announced that it would procure 30 crore doses of the COVID 19 vaccine “Corbevax” which is manufactured by the company Biological E. The firm is headquartered in Hyderabad.
This indigenously made vaccine is a “Recombinant Protein Sub Unit Vaccine ” (i.e.) made from the spike protein of COVID virus and is different from Covaxin or Covishield vaccines.

Paleontologists in China have unearthed a fossil of an 8-metre-long dinosaur, which is estimated to have lived 180-million-years ago.
The fossil is found to be 70 percent intact and the Dinosaur Fossil Conservation and Research Center carried out emergency excavations to help prevent damage to the bones. This is a type of giant Lufengosaurus, which lived during the Early Jurassic period, as per media reports.
