Notes:
The PSLV Orbital Experimental Module is a platform which is used to perform in-orbit experiments using the final stage of ISRO’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).
In the PSLV rocket, first three stages fall back into the ocean and the final stage (PS4) ends up as space junk, after launching the satellite into orbit.  POEM has a Navigation Guidance and Control (NGC) system for attitude stabilisation.

Notes:
The Union Cabinet approved the categorization of Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) as an ‘International Organization’.
The cabinet also approved signing of the Headquarters Agreement (HQA) with CDRI, for grant of exemptions and privileges under Section-3 of the United Nations (Privileges & Immunities) Act, 1947.

The NITI Aayog released its report titled ‘Harnessing Green Hydrogen — Opportunities for Deep Decarbonisation in India’.
It has recommended tax breaks like reduction or exemption of GST and custom duties on green hydrogen production. It has also proposed setting up green hydrogen corridors and offering grants to start-ups working on green hydrogen solutions.

Jasprit Bumrah created a world record for scoring the most runs in an over in Test cricket. He smashed two sixes and four fours to score 35 runs in an over.
He achieved the feat during the 5th Test between India and England in the over bowled by England speedster Stuart Broad. He had conceded 6 sixes in an over to Yuvraj Singh in the T20 format in 2007.

The Central Government has levied windfall tax on domestic crude oil producers. Domestic producers sell crude oil to domestic refineries at international parity prices, thus making windfall gains.
The Government also hiked the import duty on gold and imposed export duties on petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF). These are the initiatives to reduce pressure on the rupee, reduce the current account deficit (CAD), and increase the domestic supply of petroleum products. Special additional excise duties of Rs 6 and Rs 13 per litre on export of petrol and diesel were announced.

Every year, National Doctor’s Day is observed on July 1 in the memory of Dr Bidhan Roy, the former Chief Minister of Bengal, since 1991.
The theme this year is ‘Family doctors on the front line.’ The day honours the contributions made by the doctors and healthcare professionals, along with the sacrifices they have made to save millions of lives.

Indian Government’s think tank NITI Aayog released compendium of Ayush practices to manage COVID-19.
The compendium provides information focused on practices adopted by various states and UTs of India for strengthening the country’s fight against COVID-19.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz sealed the first Formula One victory of his career in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Sergio Pérez and Lewis Hamilton finished second and third in the tournament respectively. Fernando Alonso, Lando Norris, Mick Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and Kevin Magnussen were among the top ten.

Tata Group’s Air India (AI) has signed an agreement with Amadeus IT Group SA, a travel technology. This is a part of the carrier’s revitalisation plan and the agreement aims to deploy technology solutions to enhance customer experience and operational effectiveness.
Air India is implementing the Amadeus Altéa PSS suite, including components from revenue management, revenue accounting, retailing, and merchandising, website, mobile and frequent flyer programme management.

Australia has committed USD5.8 million to the three-year India-Australia Critical Minerals Investment Partnership.
Union Minister for coal and mines Pralhad Joshi, who is on a visit to Australia, said that India and Australia will explore investment opportunities in lithium and cobalt mineral assets.
