The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched three satellites from Singapore in its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C53) mission.
It is being launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. PSLV-C53 is also the second dedicated mission of NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), a corporate arm of the Department of Space. ISRO has successfully launched the PSLV-C52 mission in February 2022 by injecting Earth Observation Satellite (EOS-04).

Tokyo Olympian Deepak Punia won a bronze medal in the 86kg freestyle weight category at the U23 Asian wrestling championships 2022 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The 23-year-old wrestler after losing to Azizbek Fayzullaev of Uzbekistan and Nurtilek Karypbaev of Kyrgyzstan, settled for the bronze. India won 25 medals in all in the U23 meet in the event, including 10 gold medals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated Bosch India’s first smart campus in the city of Bengaluru built at a cost of Rs 800 crore.
This campus will be used in developing futuristic products and solutions for India and for the world. The inauguration of the Spark.NXT Campus of Bosch India coincided with the 75^th anniversary of Indian independence.

World Asteroid Day 2022 is marked and celebrated globally on June 30 every year, in order to raise public awareness about asteroid’s hazardous effect.
In December 2016, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution that declared 30 June as International Asteroid Day. It observes the anniversary of the Tunguska impact over Siberia, Russian Federation on the same day in 1908.

The government has decided to set up the Financial Services Institution Bureau (FSIB) to replace the Banks Board Bureau (BBB).
The BBB was entrusted with the task of selecting candidates for appointments to the senior management-level posts. Delhi High Court last year ruled that BBB couldn’t select the General Managers and directors of state-run general insurers. Former BBB chairman Sharma is set to head the new body.

T Raja Kumar of Singapore has been appointed as the president of Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the anti-money laundering watchdog.
He has replaced Marcus Pleyer and will discharge his service for next two years. As per FATF, the President will focus on enhancing the effectiveness of global anti-money laundering  and counter-terrorist financing measures, improving asset recovery and other initiatives.

Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) announced that the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) will be included in the Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) scheme.
The new facility will provide direct government benefits to all apprentices. Earlier, companies would pay apprentices the full amount and then seek reimbursement from the government. In 2016, the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) was launched to promote apprenticeship training in the country and to provide financial support to establishments pursuing apprenticeships.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Digital India Week 2022 in Gandhinagar in Gujarat. The theme for Digital India Week is Catalyzing New India’s Techade.
The Prime Minister also launched ‘Digital India Bhashini’ to enable easy access to the internet and digital services in Indian languages. ‘Digital India GENESIS’ – a National Deep-tech Startup Platform, to support successful start-ups in Tier-II and Tier-III cities with a total outlay of 750 crore rupees was also launched. A global repository of key projects implemented under India Stack ‘Indiastack.global’ was launched.

Notes:
Weaver ants, whose scientific name is Oecophylla smaragdina, are present in Mayurbhanj district, Odisha.
The people of the district especially the tribals, make a food item with the ants called the Kai Chutney. Scientists from Odisha are in the process of presentation for the geographical indications (GI) registry of Kai Chutney.

Notes:
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay has planned to introduce a mandatory course on caste awareness.
As per the surveys conducted by the SC/ST Cell of the institution, it was proposed to provide more sensitisation events and a mandatory academic course on caste and racial discrimination. Earlier, a mandatory gender sensitisation course was launched last year.
