Vice President Venkaiah Naidu recently awarded the prestigious President’s colour to Tamil Nadu Police.
The Vice President presented the award on behalf of the supreme commander of the armed forces of India. ‘The President’s Colours’ is the highest honour presented to any Military or State police in recognition of its exceptional service of at least 25 years to the nation.

Notes:
The Arunachal Pradesh government inked a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NITI Aayog on the enhancement of the learning outcome of students across 3,000 plus government schools in the state.
The MoU is a three-year partnership (2022 – 25) focusing over two lakh children. The school education transformation project is under NITI Aayog’s Development Support Services for States (DSSS) initiative.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik released a book titled ‘Lockdown Lyrics’, a collection of poems written by poet Sanjukta Dash.
Dash, an Odia poet has three anthologies of poetries in Odia language. ‘Lockdown Lyrics’ is her debut book in English. It was written based on the experiences during the pandemic.

Vigilance Commissioner Suresh N Patel was appointed as the Central Vigilance Commissioner. He has been working as the acting Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) since June 2022.
Central Vigilance Commission is a probity watchdog founded in 1964. It works under the jurisdiction of Government of India. Suresh N Patel was sworn in as the chief by President Droupadi Murmu.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched three startup regional hubs in Madurai, Tirunelveli and Erode, to promote innovation policy to tier-II and tier-III regions.
He also launched the StartupTN accelerator initiative to support growth stage startups. Initiatives related to community circle and incubator maturity model framework were also launched. Rs 5 lakh was provided to 31 startups each across the State, as a part of the of Tamil Nadu Startup Seed Grant Fund (TANSEED).

Federal Bank has become India’s first bank to list its Payment Gateway platform on the income tax department’s TIN 2.0 platform.
The Payment Gateway enables tax payers to make their payments using modes such as credit/ debit card, UPI, NEFT/RTGS and internet banking.

In the recently released Fortune 500 list, State Bank of India is the only bank to be featured from India in 236^th rank. US retailer Walmart topped the 2022 list.
The Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has been named for the first time in the Fortune Global 500 list at rank 98. Reliance Industries jumped 51 places to rank 104 while oil and power PSUs including IOC, ONGC, BPCL were also featured in the list. The list has nine Indian companies – five state-owned, and four from the private sector.

The Dutch government (Netherlands) has recently declared a water shortage, following an unusually dry summer with no rain forecast in the near future.
Intense heat-waves hit large parts of Europe and the United States last month, rising calls for more efforts to tackle global warming. As two-thirds of the Dutch population living below sea level, droughts can become an acute problem in the Netherlands. This may lead to silting up of rivers and hampering of water traffic.

Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) has partnered with LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network.
This was launched as part of the Connect Career to Campus (CCC) campaign under the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission (KKEM) initiative. This partnership aims to boost the employability skill among the youth of Kerala.

Notes:
IndiGo on announced a global first three-point disembarkation process, which will enable its passengers to exit the aircraft faster.
Under the process, the airline will put ramps on the two forward exits on the left and right of the aircraft, and a third ramp at the left rear exit of the plane.
