February 11: International Day of Women and Girls in Science
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is being observed by the United Nations on February 11 every year since 2015. The Organization passed a resolution to observe the day in order to recognize the role played by girls and women in science and technology.
The day is being celebrated in collaboration with organizations all over the world that work towards promoting women and girls in the field of science.
The events associated with the day is mainly implemented by UNESCO. The global priority of UNESCO is Gender Equality. It supports in providing education and equal opportunities to young girls.
