‘Delphinus’ – IAF swimming team creates English Channel record

Delphinus – An Indian Air Force, swimming team that has set a record by successfully crossing the English Channel b/w the UK and France twice within a fortnight.

The team has already crossed the Channel in 12 hours and 14 minutes on the June 26, 2012. The team became the fastest Asian relay team ever. The team once again successfully crossed the Channel on July 5, 2012 in 11 hours, 25 minutes, breaking its own record. The stunning achievement makes Delphinus the first team in the world to have crossed the Channel twice in the same year and that too in the first tide which is considered the toughest. Delphinus is the first team from the Indian armed forces to swim the English Channel. It will also compete for the Endurance Trophy
